Fortunately, we didn’t fall—because suddenly there were several cars coming from both directions. Mr. Rat didn’t care as he continued his charge across the road, somehow avoiding being hit, although a couple times we thought it was inevitable because he kept running back and forth. Finally, he made it to the other side and raced across the meadow. We all breathed a sigh of relief, and prepared to leave.
